Which iPhones get
Apple Intelligence?

Apple Intelligence needs an iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max, or any iPhone 16 or newer. The base iPhone 15 and everything older can't run it, and no repair changes that.

The iPhone 17e ($699, 256 GB) is the cheapest new iPhone in our data with Apple Intelligence.

Is it worth upgrading for?

It depends which features you'd actually use day to day. If Apple Intelligence is the only thing you're missing and your phone otherwise works well, it's a want rather than a need. If you were going to upgrade soon anyway, it's a good reason to do it now.

If your phone already supports it, there's no Apple Intelligence reason to upgrade at all.
